Multiple-dose administration of pregabalin (300 mg twice a day) in healthy subjects had no effect on the rate and extent of oxycodone single-dose pharmacokinetics. Single-dose administration of oxycodone (10 mg) had no effect on the steady-state pharmacokinetics of pregabalin. Gabapentin pharmacokinetics following single- and multiple-dose administration were unaltered by pregabalin coadministration. The extent of pregabalin absorption was unaffected by gabapentin coadministration, although there was a small reduction in rate of absorption.

• Infants did not receive breast milk obtained during the dosing period, therefore, the effects of LYRICA on the breast fed infant were not evaluated.

When filling prescriptions, be sure to call ahead to make sure the pharmacy carries it. People should not need a new prescription for this medication to be refilled. A doctor will write the number of refills authorized on the prescription. For children under 17, the doctors will advise on the appropriate dosage. This will vary depending on the child’s age, weight, and other factors. Pregabalin is available as a generic and brand (Lyrica) oral capsule at strengths from 25 milligrams (mg) to 300 mg.

1 Clinical Trials Experience

Due to the risk of withdrawal, you should not suddenly stop taking Lyrica without first speaking with your doctor. If you need to stop taking Lyrica, your doctor can slowly lower your dose over price of lyrica time until it’s safe to stop taking it entirely. Lyrica is not known to interact with other specific medications, herbs, supplements, or foods. The manufacturer did not list any interactions in the drug’s prescribing information, except for an interaction with alcohol as described here.

Some people have a higher risk of this, including people with existing heart disease or who take other medicines that affect the heart. Call your healthcare provider right away or go to the nearest emergency room if you experience any of the following serious symptoms of heart rhythm changes. Pregabalin can cause slow or shallow breathing, especially if you are taking another medicine that can cause slowed breathing, such as the opioid medicines codeine or oxycodone, or if you already have breathing problems. Tell your healthcare provider if you develop severe sleepiness or trouble breathing, especially when you start pregabalin or when your dose is increased.
